Retirement wealth planning platform, James Hay, has announced that Alex Kovach has joined the platform as its Chief Commercial Officer.

Kovach joins from one of the leading D2C platforms, Interactive Investor (ii), where he led the commercial function for the past five years. During his time at ii, he was instrumental in the platform increasing in size from 9th to 2nd largest in the UK*, and part of the leadership team that drove the acquisition and integration of the Alliance Trust Savings platform, Trustnet Direct and TD Direct Investing.

His previous roles also include Managing Director of Global Services at Camelot, as well as being responsible for strategic development as CEO of International Development at Ladbrokes.

Kovach will lead the Sales & Business Development, Proposition and Marketing functions at James Hay.

CEO Alastair Conway commented on Kovach’s appointment, saying: “Alex will be a great addition to the team, and will help contribute to my long-term ambitions for the platform in enhancing our products, developing deeper relationships with advisers, as well as helping deliver the broader strategic objectives of the business. We’re delighted to have attracted someone of Alex’s leadership and commercial calibre.”

Commenting on joining James Hay, Alex said: “I’m joining at an exciting point in the James Hay journey. The business is bursting with pensions know-how and does the difficult stuff really well, yet punches below its weight in the advisory platform space. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping to deliver the strategic plan, so the business can realise the potential we all know it has.”
